The internet has accused Kim Kardashian of “not reading the room at all” after she recently shared images from her Perfect magazine photo shoot where she posed with Tesla’s Cybertruck and Optimus robot.
Photographer Steven Klein shot the reality star posing in the back of the vehicle and lying on a mattress by the ocean while embracing a Tesla robot.
There are ongoing protests across the country over Elon Musk and Tesla in response to President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency initiative, known as DOGE, which Musk helms.
Tump and DOGE have also spent weeks slashing federal jobs — despite legal concerns regarding the tech billionaire’s involvement — prompting mayhem for workers and pushback from some congressional Republicans.
Social media users on Musk’s social platform X, formerly Twitter, didn’t hesitate to express their issues with Kardashian’s photo shoot.
“Taking paid promo to have a Tesla robot on a mag cover is so lame. Not that Kim has ever been a progressive oracle but taking coin from the Nazi Coup is a new low lol,” one person wrote.
Another said, “If you think that the Tesla x Kim photoshoots aren’t politically motivated, you cannot be saved.”
“Kim’s a Nazi sympathizer. Sorry but posing with a Tesla robot can’t be anything else but that,” someone else added.
Earlier this year, Musk made headlines after making a gesture many likened to a Nazi salute during a speech.
Despite the public’s growing concerns, Kardashian claimed the photo shoot was a “big joke.”
“I think the big joke of me even doing the shoot with the robot is that I feel like I’m so robotic,” she explained in her interview with Perfect.

Kardashian also found herself in the hot seat last November after she showed off her new Tesla robot in a clip on X amid soaring scrutiny over the company.
“Meet my new friend🦾🤖@Tesla,” she captioned the video.
