has delivered a heart-rending health update, revealing a setback that prevents him from doing something special for his fans. The legendary musician disclosed last year that he is struggling with a decline in his vision. In a moving speech after a showing of The Devil Wears Prada in London’s West End, Elton, 77, confessed: “I’ve lost my eyesight and cannot see the stage.”
Following an eye infection the previous summer, which resulted in the loss of sight in his right eye, Sir Elton has also acknowledged that his left eye is barely functioning, sharing that he feels somewhat “stuck”. Tragically, Elton’s situation has since deteriorated, and fans were cautioned that the I’m Still Standing chart-topper has had to adapt significantly for his latest album launch.

Despite concerns that his impaired vision might have halted work on his new album, Who Believes in Angels?, it is still scheduled for release on April 4. Unfortunately, Elton has had to make a difficult decision regarding the promotion of his upcoming tunes.
He has marketed £24.99 limited edition copies of the upcoming album, which include his own autograph.
In a poignant turn of events, Elton has reportedly “simplified” his autograph to just the initial ‘E’ followed by a kiss, according to The Sun. In December, Elton, father to 13 year old Zachary and 11 year old Elijah, disclosed his eye condition publicly for the first time.
Addressing an audience, he said: “I’ve lost my eyesight and cannot see the stage. As some of you may know I have had issues and now I have lost my sight.”

He continued, expressing his appreciation despite his challenges: “I haven’t been able to see the performance but I have enjoyed it.
“To my husband who’s been my rock because I haven’t been able to come to many of the previews… it’s hard for me to see it but I love to hear it and it sounded good tonight. It’s been a while since I’ve done anything, and well, I just have to get off my backside.”
Elton elaborated on his condition, revealing the extent of his vision loss: “I unfortunately lost my eyesight in my right eye in July because I had an infection in the south of France and it’s been four months now since I haven’t been able to see, and my left eye is not the greatest.
“So there’s hope and encouragement that it will be OK, but it’s… I’m kind of stuck at the moment, because I can do something like this (an interview), but going into the studio and recording, I don’t know, because I can’t see a lyric for a start.”

Elton made a heartbreaking admission on ‘s The Graham Norton Show alongside his musical partner Brandi Carlile as they discussed their new single Who Believes In Angels? Elton revealed that he was overcome with emotion and needed consoling for 45 minutes after working on the song, which prompted him to reflect on his own mortality.
Elton recounted the experience: “Bernie Taupin gave me a lyric for a song called, When This Whole World Is Done With Me, and I’m writing the verse quite quickly, and I think this is a really lovely verse.
“And then I get to the chorus, and I find that it’s about my death, my demise. And as a 76-year-old man, which I was at that time, and having children and having a husband, mortality, and you think about, ‘How long have I got? How long? I hope I’ve got, much longer than maybe I’ve got.”
He continued, sharing the emotional impact of the realisation: “And so by the time I got to the chorus and suddenly realised that I started singing it (and) I lost it for 45 minutes. It was a very, very heavy moment for me.
“After 45 minutes of being consoled, I was okay, but I recorded the next day…when you’re singing about being washed out to sea and the end of your life, it took me by surprise.”
