Adam Henson has once again attacked following their ongoing spat over how farming is portrayed on television. Adam previously warned aspiring farmers not to be misled by the Amazon Prime series which he believes doesn’t accurately reflect the true nature of farming. In response, Clarkson had branded Adam as “smug” in his book, Diddly Squat.
Doubling down on his views, Adam spoke on the Tweedl Pod podcast, saying: “The reason it’s funny is because there are all these disasters.” He conceded that while the show is entertaining and reaches a broad audience, it risks giving the impression that farming is an unrewarding profession.

Adam further commented: “If you were thinking, ‘Shall I be a dentist or a lawyer or be a farmer?’ and you watch Clarkson’s Farm, you’d think ‘All that work and you make diddly squat, I’ll be a dentist or a lawyer farming’s not for me’.
He stressed the need for bright, business-savvy individuals in the agricultural sector, saying: “But actually it’s those bright business-minded entrepreneurial type of people we need to join farming.”
Clarkson’s Farm has turned Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm into a popular attraction, drawing significant crowds. Adam, whose farm is about 45 minutes away, observed that “for the local people [the huge crowds] are pretty frustrating”.

Adam, the face of Cotswold Farm Park, cheekily claimed his attraction offers “a much better day out” than ‘s Diddly Squat Farm.
He also examined the authenticity of Clarkson’s Farm, suggesting that it is more entertainment than reality: “It’s documentary style, but it’s scripted.”
He even called out the portrayal of Gerald, the farmhand known for his mumbled speech on the show, saying: “I’ve met him a number of times,” and revealed: “He can speak perfectly fine and what they do is they record his voice and then they lay over another track of voice so that it sounds like it’s in a muddle.”

When touching upon conservation efforts, Adam spoke about Chris Packham, hinting at their cool relationship.
Discussing his interest in conservation, Adam mentioned Chris, who he noted probably wasn’t too fond of him but acknowledged the Springwatch star’s intelligence.
Despite their potential differences, Adam remarked: “He doesn’t particularly like people like me. But I’ve got nothing against him personally.”
