star Briony May Williams has revealed what it is really like to bake in the tent. Briony appeared on the ninth series of the hit baking show, and was even made Star Baker during Pastry Week after baking an Alice in Wonderland themed pie. She eventually came fourth out of 12, and has had a successful TV career since, appearing on show Escape to the Country.

Speaking to Express.co.uk about what the show is really like to film, Briony said: “There are about 30 people, including producers, camera operators for example, in the tent with the bakers when we are filming. They mostly gather in the centre of the tent so you can’t see them on camera. You might notice now that when they are filming, they shoot out towards the lawn rather than inwards so you don’t see all the crew.”

She continued: “I was terrified most of the time! Prue is amazing, she is like your naughty grandma, then you have Paul who is incredibly intimidating, just like he is on TV. It is a bit like stepping into another world when you walk into the tent and it is very intense so things get on top of you really easily.

“My main piece of advice is to enjoy every second, even the stressful moments because it is a once in a lifetime experience.”

This series of Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer is set to be the first not judged by Prue Leith, who is being replaced by Caroline Waldegrave.

However, Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding are back to host alongside a new group of celebrities, as A Place In The Sun presenter Scarlette Douglas and her brother Stuart, and presenters Rosie and Chris Ramsay try their hand in the tent.

The presenter recently hosted a drawing class at The Bristol, where she regularly stays, for a new Curated Weekends in Bristol platform.

It features her hit list for an ideal 48 hour stay in Bristol, complete with a shopping guide for some hidden gems. Included in this bespoke guide is family favourite M Shed, Clifton’s vintage shopping scene and St Nicholas Market. As part of her guide, Briony has crafted two bespoke overnight packages.
