The mystery surrounding ‘s wife Betsy Arakawa is getting murkier, with witnesses saying they saw her walking in town on the day of her death. , with an autopsy report stating that Hackman was alive for up to seven days after Betsy died. She was confirmed to have died on February 11 from rare rat-borne disease hantavirus after she was found dead on their bathroom floor surrounded by pills.
But questions are being raised over the autopsy results, as a doctor has claimed that Arakawa rang him on February 12, the day after she was said to have died. Not only that, witnesses in Santa Fe have said they saw Betsy healthy and “running around” on February 11, visiting a chemist, pet food store and supermarket.

An LA based doctor has also shared his scepticism over Betsy’s cause of death being hantavirus, which causes major respiratory issues and would have left her seriously ill for days before her death.
They told The Mail on Sunday: “Medical professionals are all scratching their heads over hantavirus as the cause of death.
“Respiratory failure is not sudden – it is something that worsens over several days.
“Most people get admitted to the ER [emergency room] because they are having trouble breathing. It’s exceedingly rare for a seemingly healthy 65-year-old to drop dead of it. In fact, no one’s heard of such a thing.”
In a tragic finding, Gene died in the mudroom a week after his wife, with his cause of death being heart failure combined with Alzheimer’s.
Fears emerged that due to his severe Alzheimer’s, Gene may not have been aware that his beloved wife was dead in the bathroom. He also had no food in his stomach, meaning he may not have fed himself for days.
Their dog was also found dead in their home, with the cause of death being starvation and dehydration, which also indicates Gene was not capable of looking after the pets either.
