‘s Sunday with got heated today as the presenter clashed with Health Secretary Wes Streeting over the announcement that NHS England would be abolished. The announcement means that the NHS will come back under the government, allowing them more control over the budget, and Streeting also warned there will be coming welfare cuts.
As the two had a heated conversation over NHS worker’s fears over job losses, viewers took to social media to share their fury as the pair talked over each other, making it hard to hear Streeting’s answers. One raged: “Stop saying “we’re going to come to it” when you’re trying to interrupt and cut off Wes Streeting. We’re wanting to hear his answers, stop your interruptions.”
Another agreed: “Stop interrupting – terrible interviewer,” as a third chimed in: “Why do you have these ministers on your tv programme Laura …They NEVER Answer your questions. So what is the point of giving them air time ..it’s happened for as long as I can remember…& that’s why I don’t watch your Sunday morning programme.” A fourth said: “Don’t waste your breath Laura. Wes Streeting will never give you a straight answer,” as a fifth chimed in: “Thank God for The Simpsons on Channel 4.”
