A list of the top ten theme parks in shows that would-be thrill seekers looking to get their kicks this summer do not necessarily have to leave the country, with three located in Britain. Paultons Park, Stockeld Park and Alton Towers all make the final list, although there is no place for popular attractions such as Thorpe Park. The list compiled by TripAdvisor is based on the reviews of users, Efteling in at number ten, with reviewers drawn to the attraction thanks to English-speaking staff and “a fairytale atmosphere, natural surroundings and a wide range of thrilling and enchanting attractions.”
Legoland is ranked at number nine, whilst the home of Peppa Pig World, Paultons Park, sits at number 8. The Hampshire-based site is a popular draw for families due to the phenomenal success of Peppa Pig and the abundance of rides linked to famous landmarks in the popular children’s TV programme.

Once described as “very much my kind of place”, when visited by Prime Minister , the park is often praised for its realism, cleanliness and lack of queues.
One visitor remarked: “Although pricey to get in I do believe it is worth it, the park is in pristine condition with bins spotted everywhere round the park, the park looks well kept, extremely short queues we pretty much walked straight onto every ride.”
historical themed theme park has been voted as the seventh best in before the next British entry sees Stockeld Park voted in at six.
The tourist attraction is set on a 40-acre site and boasts enchanted forests, magical mazes, electric trains and a variety of activities, the site has expanded rapidly since opening in 2006.
One guest commented how impressive the staff and site were for young children including those with additional needs.
Sophie Smith said: “My two children absolutely loved it, we had a fantastic day.
“Staff were great, we did get lost in the maze and my son has additional needs and was getting distressed so we called the number provided and staff helped us find our way out within minutes.”
Stockeld Park narrowly misses out on a place in the top 5 to Alton Towers, the jewel in the crown of parent company Merlin Entertainments group.

The world-famous rides including oblivion, the smiler and nemesis, the park has long been a must see for theme park lovers.
Tivoli Gardens makes it into fourth place narrowly beaten by Europa Park.
may feel aggrieved to take second place, given the worldwide popularity of other theme parks across the world, but it will take some comfort from the fact that more than 65% of 53,000 reviewers gave it a four or five star rating.
First place was awarded to Siam Park in which describes itself as “the best water park in the world” and was rated as 4 star or more by 86% of reviewers.
One guest described it as “fun for all the family” as they said: “Two families, children aged 7-16. Fortunate to have no queues on anything – I think the longest we queued was 10 minutes.
“The rides were great and the wave pool was fun! We had snacks there – plenty of choice. Free shuttle bus back to Los Cristianos – very efficient.”
Another commented: “This park is wonderful and I highly recommend it for families, solo visitors, and just about everyone else.
“There is plenty of shade in the lines, which aren’t very long. The water is warm, and the park is clean. I’ve been to many parks, and this one is definitely the best by far.”
