Footage of the moment quickly went viral, with supporters praising Mr Trump’s response and critics debating whether the accident was disrespectful.
Turning Point USA Founder and CEO Charlie Kirk posted on X: “Unreal these people. Have some respect.” He later added that Mr Trump “handled it graciously”.

Mr Trump also used his DoJ address to defend his legal team and highlight recent courtroom victories. He praised US District Judge Aileen Cannon for dismissing a criminal case against him and reiterated his belief that he was being unfairly targeted.

His remarks at the DoJ signalled a clear warning to his critics, reinforcing his pledge to overhaul the agency if re-elected.
Meanwhile, his reaction to the microphone mishap became yet another viral moment in his presidency, once again drawing attention to his often unpredictable interactions with the press.
