This is not a huge tourist destination but it’s an underrated spot which is perfect for a summer holiday. The  of Kotor in Montenegro has been an important port since ancient times, and its rich history can still be seen in the old cobbled streets and Venetian-style architecture. 

Kotor has a picturesque coastline and nearby mountains make it an ideal spot for hiking. The town has an old-world charm that makes it a great for those seeking a cultural experience. One person who visited its Old Town said on Tripadvisor: “I knew very little about this area of the world before I visited.

“I walked away absolutely in love with the region and especially Old Kotor! Lovely little shops, restaurants, and squares with the mountains towering in the background! It was very helpful to have a tour of the city to learn its rich history.”

Another must-see place is the Bay of Kotor, known for its and peaceful atmosphere.

A visitor said on Tripadvisor: “Went on a solo trip and booked an excursion to see the island in its entirety. Stopped at the Bay of Kotor and this place is beautiful. 

“This is a must-do as  from cruise ships and normal holidaymakers swamped this stunning bay. Restaurants and souvenir shops were abundant and it was nice to pass time in this place.”

To get to Kotor, you can fly to Tivat airport or to Dubrovnik airport.
