BBC star Kate Humble makes plea to Brits over life as a naturist

presenter Kate Humble has never been shy about her life as a naturist.

The wildlife presenter, 56, who has appeared on everything from to , is a passionate nature enthusiast – and that apparently extends to stripping off to return to the days before clothes. Lambing Live star Kate has even urged everyone else to “try it”.

Speaking to the Sunday People back in 2014, Kate said: “There’s something joyous about it and I urge everyone to try it. My husband and I danced naked in the middle of the desert in Jordan once. If you can’t get your kicks in that incredibly innocent, joyful way, then the world is not a good place.”

Kate added that getting naked outdoors is her “eccentric” way of being closer to nature. But it hasn’t always been the best idea, as she confessed she once caught fleas from lying on a forest floor and while in Africa was rushed to hospital when spiders laid eggs in her toe.

Speaking to Metro in 2022, Kate doubled down on her views, insisting: “It’s one of those infuriating things that people want to put a label on. I’m not a naturist in that I don’t join other people who like to take their clothes off but there is something really magnificent about swimming with no clothes on or just feeling the sun on your skin and the grass on your back. There’s something joyful and liberating about it.”

She added that it’s “odd” how “bizarre” people find her views, explaining to the publication that some of the “outrageous” outfits she sees on social media are more shocking than “a middle-aged woman taking off her clothes in private and doing a little dance in a field”.

She insisted she won’t “streak across a cricket ground” but being naked outdoors makes her “happy” – and she doesn’t intend to stop any time soon.
