Prue Leith, the beloved 85-year-old star of , has revealed her stark fears about ageing. The beloved TV star laid bare the grim realities of growing older, sharing: “My main worry is falling over. A couple of years ago I fell at our train station and it’s taken me two years to recover. You don’t want to break a leg or hip at my age. I think if I can keep everything working, I will be OK. And all my life I have wanted to lose a stone but I could never lose it!” the star added.

Opening up about her daily struggles, Prue didn’t sugarcoat the harshness of her mornings. “It takes me 10 minutes to get myself out of bed in the morning. If I don’t do the exercises I can’t move. There’s all sorts of things that are wrong with old age,” she confessed.

The mother-of-two also has also delved into her philosophical take on the later years of her life.

She told ITV’s Loose Women: “You know, you are very conscious that this is nearly the end, though I agree that you then decide that you’re going to make the most of it and have fun. I think what we’re all saying is that we don’t care what people think as much as we did and to be honest I don’t even really care if I’m cancelled,” she shared.

The revelation follows Prue’s previous comments at London Fashion Week in November last year, where she acknowledged the liberating feeling of being “so near the end” now that she’s in her 80s, reports .

“Because I’m so near the end, I’m a bit more reckless. Now, what’s the worst thing that can happen?

“If I was about to try and get a job on Bake Off, I probably wouldn’t walk down a catwalk in latex with goth makeup on, but now it’s too late. If I want to do it, and it sounds like good fun. I just think, why not?”

Discussing her eye-catching attire on Channel 4, she elaborated: “I don’t ever wear anything I don’t want to. My husband is a retired fashion designer, and he’s very keen on colour, so I listen to him a bit.” Prue has been married to retired clothes designer John Playfair since 2016

She recently suffered a painful physical setback that left her reeling after a “hammer blow” to the ankle resulting in a snapped Achilles tendon while filming an opening scene for The Great British Bake Off. This injury has forced her to prioritize her health above all else.
