Severance fans have the same one-word reaction to ‘mic drop’ Milchick moment in episode 9

Fans of the mind-bending show Severance were united in their applause after a riveting confrontation featuring Seth Milchick (portrayed by Tramell Tillman) left them on the edge of their seats.

The gripping moment aired on Apple TV+ this past Friday (14th March) during episode nine, dubbed The After Hours.

Viewers saw key character Mark Scout (Adam Scott) missing from Lumon Industries while he strategises a rescue for his wife, Gemma (Dichen Lachman) from the company’s ominous testing floor.

As storylines unravelled, character Irving (John Turturro) is discarded by Burt (Christopher Walken), Dylan (Zach Cherry) resigns after a personal rejection, and Helly/Helena (Britt Lower) has a strange encounter with her father Jame Eagan (Michael Siberry).

With each of the severed employees finding themselves more isolated than ever, the burning question remains whether Mark and Ms Cobel (Patricia Arquette) can orchestrate a scheme potent enough to strike Lumon Industries where it hurts most.

Amidst all the upheaval, one particular scene left fans gushing with excitement—a face-off involving Lumon’s enforcer Mr Drummond (Darri Ólafsson) challenging Milchick over the whereabouts of Mark.

Throughout the season, Milchick’s approach to management has been under scrutiny; mocked especially for his verbose tendencies.

However, in an explosive instance of the spotlight episode, he viciously retorted in simple yet scathing terms, pinning the blame back on Drummond—and in doing so, suggesting he “devours feculence”, ie “eat s***”.

This ferocious display of defiance had viewers unanimously cheering, as they flocked to social media to share their delight in seeing Milchick’s robust stance against the corporate might of Lumon.

One user penned a triumphant message: “Mr. Milchick actually using only monosyllabic words to Mr. Drummond: ‘It’s not my fault what Mark Scout does when he is not at work, it’s yours’ was a real mic drop moment.”

An enthusiastic viewer vociferously expressed their approval, exclaiming: “Watching Milchick tear Drummond a new one yelling at my TV like YESSSSSSSSS, DO IT SETH.”

X (formerly Twitter) also saw fans echoing similar sentiments, with remarks like: “Milchick lil rebellion, finally! I was kinda feeling bad for him sometimes, with everyone s****ing on him. Too bad he’s two eps late.”

The sentiment continued to surge as another stated: “Milchick finally stands up for himself,” and an additional comment came paired with clapping hands emojis: “Mr Milchick finally snapping on Drummond.”

A particularly pointed observation came from another user who delineated: “‘Devour feculence. It means ‘eat s***’, Mr. Drummond.’ Love when Mr. Milchick finally realizes it’s just a job.”

And yet another fan couldn’t hide their elation, exclaiming: “Mr. Milchick thank you so much for going off on that oaf omg.”

With the finale of Severance’s second season on the horizon, speculation swirls whether Milchick will heighten his defiance against Lumon and ally with Mark and Cobel’s uprising or if the Egans, upon catching wind of the dispute, will take punitive measures against the floor manager—perhaps leading to his firing. All eyes are on the concluding episode for revelations.

Severance season 2 concludes Friday, 21st March on Apple TV+.
