Since its arrival, fans have been captivated, with the sci-fi epic currently sitting at number seven in the global rankings. Impressively, it’s the only non- original title to make it into the top 10 worldwide shows.
This drama first hit screens in 2022 and ran for two seasons before being cancelled. Halo, a high-octane military science fiction based on the video game from Bungie and 343 Industries, originally aired on streaming platform Paramount+.
The plot centres around a 26th-century war between the United Nations Space Command and an alien alliance known as the Covenant, who are hell-bent on wiping out humanity. One ardent fan awarded the show a five-star rating and posted on Google: “I’m a huge fan of the books and the first three games, I’ve been overall impressed with the new series. The combat is spot-on to what I imagined, the elites and Spartan’s are incredible to watch in action.”
Another glowing five-star review read: “Thoroughly entertaining, and for someone who has played the first game only this has satisfied me plenty and made me a fan. The series did not disappoint throughout it’s run [sic].”

[UPDATE]
A fan gushed: “Truly one of the greatest pieces of media I have ever consumed in my life, I honestly can’t recall how many times I’ve gone back to revisit this masterpiece. The story alone is award winning but it is heightened so much by the incredible performances of all the cast really bringing each of their respective roles to life in a way I have never seen before.”
Paramount+ released a heartfelt statement regarding the cancellation of Halo in 2024, expressing gratitude and pride: “We are extremely proud of this ambitious series and would like to thank our partners at Xbox, 343 Industries and Amblin Television, along with showrunner and executive producer David Wiener, his fellow executive producers, the entire cast led by Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief and the amazing crew for all their outstanding work. We wish everyone the best going forward.”

Speculation is rife that could swoop in to rescue Halo, following its track record of reviving shows such as Lucifer and Designated Survivor, should the series garner impressive viewership numbers.
Halo has soared to the top spot on in several countries, including Bolivia, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, and has secured a place in the top 10 most-watched lists in numerous other territories.
David Wiener, the showrunner, previously shared his aspirations for a third season with Collider, stating it was “totally the intention” to continue the saga and expressing hope for another chapter.
