Born in Montreal, Canada, in 1959, he built his fortune through strategic investments in luxury fashion brands, including Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, and Ralph Lauren. His business acumen led him to sell his stake in Michael Kors in 2014, earning approximately £1.78 billion ($2.3 billion​).
