Apple has thrown its own hat in the ring with the iPhone 16e to try and compete in the lower-end mobile phone market. However at the price Apple is offering, Samsung might be the better alternative to turn to.

Samsung’s own Galaxy S24 is a great pickup these days as you can get some great contract deals. And for a limited time, is offering a whole range of freebies alongside some affordable contracts.

You can get for free or the for free when you take out any contract with the S24. And there are some great contracts you can look at.

The best plan that we can see is with Vodafone with unlimited texts and messages – and the best thing is the price won’t increase until April 2026. There’s even an unlimited data plan for if you don’t want to worry about data for a while.

These are all 24-month contracts, so there’s no fear about you being stuck into a contract for long periods, either.

But there are other alternatives you can pick up. If you want to spend more on a flagship, premium device if you want to get the newest Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Sky is offering the handset for £42 a month, but that doesn’t include the data with the offer, so you’ll want to ensure that you factor that into the price.

, so you can customise the right plan for you. Another important thing for shoppers to note is its lengthy contracts, which are notoriously longer than rival providers.

Our tech editor David Snelling gave the Galaxy S24 an almost perfect score it nearly a year ago. He said: “There’s plenty to love and little to hate about the new Samsung Galaxy S24 range. No, they aren’t quite as feature-packed as their more expensive Galaxy S24 Ultra sibling but that device costs hundreds of pounds more.

“What you do get are phones with a striking new look, plenty of power, decent cameras, long battery life and a bunch of smart upgrades aimed at making life a little easier.

Don’t miss…

“Thanks to something called Galaxy AI, the S24 can now translate calls in real-time, edit photos with a simple tap on the screen and search for things online by just circling an object in an image.”

However, there were some concerns. He added: “Our main criticism is aimed at the processor tucked under the shell of these devices. Last year’s S23 got Qualcomm’s popular Snapdragon brain across the entire range. That’s not the case in 2024 with the S24 now featuring Samsung’s Exynos chip in the UK.

“Only the Ultra includes the beefier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor which is a real shame – it also makes things pretty confusing for consumers as other countries get the Gen 3 on all models. That’s a minor niggle on what is otherwise a fabulous smartphone.”
