has reached out to his followers for support amid his ongoing health struggles. The veteran broadcaster, 65, has been open about his medical woes, which include enduring slipped discs. Notably seen using a wheelchair after his back operation in 2022, Holmes has been transparent about his journey towards better mobility.

On Friday (March 14), the GB News presenter took to social media to update his loyal fanbase, admitting he is still battling “pain” and sometimes fears he may never overcome his “disc immobility”. He added that the task of getting dressed now presents a significant struggle for him. He candidly told his fans: “Even when the sun shines there’s pain. Sometimes I feel I’ll never beat this disc immobility but I’m determined to have a life ….. so pray for me, help me or get out of the way social media haters.”

Some followers empathised from personal history, with one individual writing: “I’m in terrible pain with my back as well [Eamonn]. Hope you feel better soon … no one understands the pain unless they have experienced it … take care god bless.”

In response to a suggestion about swimming, Eamonn Holmes explained his difficulty: “But changing clothes is a huge task.”

When queried about the origin of his back issues on social media, he revealed: “Slipped discs. Then operation that didn’t work.”

The TV star, once a staple on This Morning, continues to share updates about his well-being. In a bid to increase his mobility, last summer he started using an anti-gravity treadmill, a challenge he later labelled as “tough”.

He gave insight into this therapeutic exercise, commenting last July that the machine’s purpose is to support his weight and stimulate muscle memory.

He said: “A balloon holds my weight. What it does really, the machine, if I now walk or run in this, it helps my legs and my body remember what it was like to move like this before things went wrong, that have been wrong for a long time.”
