Whoopi Goldberg and her opinions have no intention of leaving our TV screens anytime soon.

On a Thursday episode of “The View,” the EGOT recipient delivered a passionate message to anyone calling for the popular daytime talk show’s cancellation. The conversation — sparked by California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) inviting Steve Bannon on his new podcast, “This Is Gavin Newsom” took an interesting turn when Goldberg sought to clarify how she and her co-hosts express their views on various topics.

“People assume that we believe whatever they believe that we believe,” she said. “You know what I mean?”

Turning to fellow host Joy Behar for some validation, Goldberg received a simple “no” in response.

“People believe that they know everything I think and believe. They don’t. But one of the ways that you learn what people believe is to hear them talk,” the “Ghost” actor explained.

Goldberg then directed her attention to those who feel “The View” has no place on television, providing reasons why the program fosters essential dialogue.

“One of the things people would love to see, people always say, ‘You should take “The View” off television.’ You know why? Because we give you an opportunity. We don’t tell you what to think, we say, ‘This is what I think,’” the “Sister Act” actor shared. “When we do that, that is how you have the dialogue. It’s not personal, you know?”

She continued with a simple yet firm message: “Name-calling is not OK.”

The actor went on to explain that healthy dialogue is essential to moving the conversation forward, though things get murky when personal attacks on you and your family come into play. A sentiment that, in Goldberg’s view, sets “The View” apart from other forms of discourse.
