has had an incredibly prolific career, starring in over 160 films and making numerous TV appearances. The legendary actor, who celebrates his 92nd birthday today, retired in October 2023, saying: “The only parts I’m likely to get now are old men. And I thought, well I might as well leave with all this – what have I got to do to beat this?”
The cockney star is one of only two actors who have been nominated for an in every decade from the 1960s to 2000s, the other being Jack Nicholson. Michael won his first Oscar in 1986 for Hannah and Her Sisters and his second in 1999 for Cider House Rules, both in the Supporting Actor category.
