Rounding up the top three is Kigali, Rwanda’s capital which consistently ranks as one of the safest places in Africa. Rewnowed for its cleanliness, its breathtaking landscapes make it a special place to live. Boasting tree lined, wide roads Kigali is a well-planned city with efficient public transport and quality healthcare. Those living in this clean city can live comfortably on £540- £770 a month.

Another city in South Africa made the top 10 with the country’s most populous city Johannesburg coming in sixth place. Notorious for its lively nightlife and dining scene the city caters to all tastes and budgets as well as having top-tier healthcare and international schools. Those earning between £625-£1,000 can live a comfortable life here.

Rounding up the top 10 is the capital and largest city of Namibia, Windhoek. Offering a unique mix of German colonial architecture Namibia has quality healthcare and good roads. The here is moderate, with those earning between £620-£925 able to live a comfortable life.
