Theodore Lim, who was wearing a grey striped T-shirt, grey pants and black shoes with white soles, is on a ventilator. The boy is believed to be with Davis Lim and two female siblings, ages 8 and 11.
Davis Lim is 5-foot-9 with black hair, wearing a green T-shirt with white logo, black pants and black shoes.
“Investigators believe Theodore was abducted by his father, Davis Lim, from outside the West Coast Family Centre on East Broadway at Kaslo Street,” said VPD spokesman Sgt. Steve Addison. “They were last seen running west on Broadway from Kaslo Street around 10:40 a.m.
Police say Theo has a medical condition and requires a ventilator, “but he is currently without a piece of the ventilator and may go into medical distress.” The ventilator is a 12×12-inch black box with an apparatus that attaches to Theo’s face.
Lim has access to a black 2010 BMW X5 with B.C. plate 324 VCH and a blue 2006 Volkswagen Jetta with B.C. plate 325 VCH. They might be travelling together in one of the vehicles.
Anyone who sees one of the vehicles or has information on Theo’s whereabouts is asked not to approach and to call 911 immediately.
Davis Lim took issue with doctors putting Theo on a ventilator, but the Ministry of Children and Family Development had interim custody of the child, claiming the father was putting Theo’s health at risk, and ordered the procedure to go ahead.
