Who is Sadie Sink?
Sadie Elizabeth Sink was born in Texas on April 16, 2002. Her mother is a teacher and her father is a football coach, reports the .
She grew up with three older brothers and a younger sister, and has mentioned that her siblings would often recreate scenes from plays and High School Musical. At the age of seven, Sadie began attending acting classes and participating in community theatre productions.
This experience inspired her to pursue acting as a career, leading to a series of successful roles both on stage and screen.
In 2012, at the tender age of 10, she landed the role of Annie in a Broadway revival of the popular musical, a part she played for two years. During this time, her family moved to New Jersey and began home-schooling her.
She was then cast as a young Queen Elizabeth II in the play The Audience, alongside Helen Mirren who portrayed the adult queen. She acknowledged working with “some of the greatest minds in the industry” during that production.

Stranger Things auditions
Sadie’s major breakthrough came when she joined the cast of Stranger Things in its second season, playing Max Mayfield. Despite initial concerns from casting directors that the then-14 year old was too old for the role, she impressed them with four callbacks, including chemistry reads with co-stars Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin.
At her audition, Sadie falsely claimed she could rollerblade but quickly took up skateboarding lessons for three hours daily over the next two months once she secured the role. Co-director and writer Matt Duffer later described casting Sink as a “bit of a no-brainer” due to her “innocent, child chemistry” with Matarazzo and McLaughlin.
Since her debut in Stranger Things, Sadie has featured in several films, including the horror flick Eli, two instalments of the Fear Street trilogy, and The Whale opposite Oscar winner Brendan Fraser.
Is Sadie Sink dating anyone?
Now at the age of 22, Sadie maintains a tight guard over her personal affairs, leaving her romantic entanglements shrouded in mystery and speculation. In an episode of New York Encounters, links were drawn between her and Patrick Alwyn, Joe Alwyn’s sibling, sparking rumours in September 2021 after Cosmopolitan reported they had been seen together, fuelled by whispers of Taylor Swift playing cupid.
Yet, neither Sadie nor Patrick have publicly acknowledged such claims.
Sadie has let slip that her inaugural kiss occurred on-screen during Stranger Things, at just 15, with a co-star. Reliving the moment, she chuckles about the collective awkwardness and spotlight shared with a school dance backdrop: “We were both awkward, but it was also funny because all our friends were there and all these extras and lights and music. It was nerve-wracking at the time, but I look back now and can laugh about it.”
Those scouring Sadie’s own channels for clues into her love life will likely hit a dead end. The actress admitted to Glamour UK in June 2022 that she has booted off all social media apps from her phone, asserting, “I don’t have the app or any social media apps on my phone” and revealing “social media probably isn’t the best place for me.”
While Sadie does manage an profile, its content leans heavily towards work promotions and the rare candid behind-the-scenes snapshot.
