and have many properties across the globe, but used to live in a sprawling mansion now worth an eye-watering £8.5million. The couple, who have been married since 2007, moved into the six-bedroom home in 2013 after purchasing it for more than £4million. But just three years later, the Epping manor house was put on the market after the musician, 80, and Penny, 53, moved to a different part of the country to be closer to their sons’ schools.

The pair welcomed Alastair and Aiden, in 2005 and 2011, respectively, while the Maggie May hitmaker has eight children in total from his ex-wives and previous partners. With the property failing to sell for three years, Sir Rod was forced to slash the original asking price of £7.5 million by almost half, eventually selling it for £4.1million to footballer Andy Carroll and Billi Mucklow. However, the duo put the house up for sale last year after announcing their breakup, with the property now said to be worth closer to £8.5 million – more than double the price Sir Rod sold it for.
