Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, claims that her social media content has turned her into something of an outcast in WAG circles. The 27-year-old, who has been dating – also 27 – since 2020, started posting about her partner’s career a couple of years ago, and she quickly amassed a significant following on , and .
But online popularity aside, her content has rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way. Critics have accused Riddle of being opportunistic, and of ‘knowing nothing’ about tennis, particularly after she the sport was “relatively uncool and unknown in America” back in 2022. Her online antics have also irked many of her fellow WAGs, and Riddle claims that “a clique of older wives” shared her videos in a private WhatsApp group to “make fun” of her.
“I think historically, a lot of the older wives and partners on the [tennis] tour have been very private, heads down, in the box,” she explained on . “They’re there to cheer on their partner and they didn’t have super public personas.
“So when I posted my first , I don’t know if this is true, but I’ve been told by people on the tennis tour that when I was first posting TikToks a couple of years ago there was, like, a clique of older wives on the tour, and they would send my videos in their group chat and just make fun of me. So I definitely got a lot of backlash, from both within the tennis community and from the fans.
“I think it was just different, and I’m calling attention to myself. And I guess people wanted me, or expected me, to just sit in the box, be relatively quiet and not capitalise on my partner’s career, and I kind of came in guns blazing like f*** that, and posted whatever I wanted to.”

Dubbed tennis’ version of ‘Posh and Becks’, Fritz and Riddle started going out after on celebrity dating app Raya during the initial -19 lockdown. With bars and restaurants closed, Fritz invited Riddle over to his place for their first date, where they opted to watch a movie.
But instead of choosing a light-hearted rom-com or a cosy chick flick, Riddle made an unusual choice: she stuck on a disturbing horror film, a decision she instantly regretted. “I made him watch Midsommar with me, the really messed up horror movie,” the influencer .
“Why I chose that as my first introduction to a guy, I don’t really know. I think I traumatised him a little bit.”

World No.3 Fritz is still waiting to win his first Grand Slam title. He came close when he reached the final of the in September last year, but was beaten in straight sets by . Prior to that, the furthest he’d ever gone at a major was the quarter-final stage, a feat he’d managed four times.
