Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen issues huge family update with son Sydney

star has issued an exciting announcement about her son Sydney. On Wednesday (March 12), the mum-of-nine took to to share her family update with her loyal legion of fans online. The blonde bombshell, 50, was seen standing in their family kitchen alongside her 13-year-old son Sydney.

She revealed that the youngster, who has expressed an interest of becoming a father when he grows up, has left high school and is now being homeschooled by his devoted parents. The TV star announced: “So Sydney here is now homeschooled. So he splits his time between being outside on the farm and in the countryside and also doing his schoolwork because you’ve got a strict syllabus to follow.

“But what I do like is the way that the children all enjoy The Week Junior, particularly you, don’t you Syd. Because basically it gives them a knowledge of what’s going on in the world, what’s happening in the news, it inspires him, informs him, and it sparks intelligent conversations”.

The preteen looked over the latest issue of the weekly paper as his mother teased that he also needed to talk about “tidying up his bedroom”. It comes after the author revealed in an episode of Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids that her eldest son Reuben is considering leaving Ravenseat.

Throughout the programme, Amanda shared her vision for the renovation and her desire for some of her children to eventually brance out from Ravenseat and move into the newly fixed-up property. Reuben expressed his eagerness to spread his wings and leave the familial homestead.

On acquiring their new abode, Amanda said: “When Anty John’s was put up for sale, it was a dream come true, really. It is a little farm cottage with a barn attached, just short of 40 acres.” Amanda Owen returned to TV after more than two years away last October.

The star rose to fame as the matriarch of Channel 5#s surprise hit Our Yorkshire Farm, which showed the reality of life on a working farm in the remote Yorkshire Dales.

Amanda, along with her now separated husband Clive all became famous in their own right as she the programme brought the challenges of Ravenseat to a wide audience.
