Britain is teetering on the precipice of a “national security crisis” and “historic decline” thanks to Labour’s incompetence, a bombshell new report warns.
Uncontrolled migration, economic stagnation, Net Zero zealotry, and anti-Western woke ideology are assaulting a critically vulnerable UK, Prof Azeem Ibrahim’s study argues.
And he adds that if Labour’s only defence against global threats is conventional military spending, the country will remain ripe for exploitation.
“Britain’s standing as a great power is not inevitable,” the US Army War College professor told the Daily Express. “If Labour continues to mismanage the economy, the UK risks sliding into irrelevance.
“The time to act is now, or we will wake up to find ourselves a second-tier nation in Europe, outpaced by allies and rivals alike.”
Rachel Reeves’ tax-hiking maiden Budget and Labour’s kowtowing to “climate activism”, making energy needlessly expensive, is “undermining the very foundations of our national security and global standing”, he said.

With the most expensive electricity prices in the developed world, according to the Government’s own figures, and a low-growth, stagnant economy, Dr Ibrahim argues the UK will be unable to compete with global enemies in defence and technology.
The report, written for the Henry Jackson Society, adds that by 2030, Poland’s GDP per capita could surpass the UK’s.
“This isn’t just an economic issue—it’s a national security crisis. There will be fewer reasons to listen to Britain on the world stage,” Dr Ibrahim adds.
His warnings come as Europe scrambles to respond to the Trump administration’s decision to step back as a guarantor of the continent’s security.

US Vice-President JD Vance’s speech on February 14 left Munich Security Conference chair Christoph Heusgen in tears as he called on Europe to “step up while America focuses on areas of the world that are in great danger”.
Dr Ibrahim shares Mr Vance’s concerns about the threat posed by China, blasting the Government’s “misguided” cosying up to Beijing.
Since taking office, Rachel Reeves and David Lammy have visited China to improve relations. This month, the Chinese foreign minister also visited London.
Dr Ibrahim warns any attempt to thaw relations with Beijing is a naive mistake, demanding Labour recognise the “threat of Chinese cyber and economic warfare” on Britain.
