Ukraine is reportedly ready to accept a 30-day ceasefire proposed by the US following peace talks in Saudi Arabia. A joint statement between the two countries said ‘s delegation “expressed its readiness” to take the next step towards ending the war, but now must also agree.

It read: ” has expressed its readiness to accept the US proposal for an immediate temporary, 30-day ceasefire, which may be extended by mutual consent of the parties, subject to acceptance and simultaneous implementation by the Russian Federation. The United States will convey to that reciprocity from is key to achieving peace.” The statement also announced the ban on intelligence sharing with had been lifted and the US will resume its security assistance.

Trump to share intel again with Ukraine in dramatic U-turn as Putin issued warning

The US has lifted the ban on intelligence-sharing with following peace talks in Saudi Arabia.

Washington will lift its suspension of military aid and intelligence sharing immediately after imposed the ban to push Zelensky into peace talks.

Moscow rages at the West after huge attack as Saudi Arabia talks begin

Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova hit out at the West after reportedly launched one of its largest drone attacks since the beginning of the war. The attack, she claimed, should act as “a signal to the international community and the collective West”. She continued: “Now it will deal with the unleashed madness of the monster they raised, fed, equipped, provided with weapons without control and showered with money.”

This comes as talks between Ukrainian and US delegates have started in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Ukrainian delegation shared pictures of the meeting beginning on social media, and will include Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiga, Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, and Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa on one side and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor to the US President Michael Walz on the other. The meeting will focus on the path to peace and bilateral relations between and the United States.

Death toll in Kursk air strike rises for five

The death toll has risen to five after a Ukrainian air strike on ‘s Kursk region, its acting governor said.

Alexander Khinshtein previously said three people had been killed and nine injured.

The attack hit a shopping centre in the village of Belaya.

The senior aide in Ukrainian President’s ’s office, Andriy Yermak, has posted an update on X.

Fires in Moscow ‘still raging’

Fires are reportedly still raging in Moscow following ‘s massive drone attack.

Footage shared online around an hour ago shows at least one large plume of black smoke rising into the air.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said more than 70 drones targeted the Russian capital and were shot down as they were flying towards it.

Meeting start ‘very constructive’

An aide to President Zelensky has said the meeting with US officials began in a “very constructive” way.

Footage showed Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister in attendance at the table, with American, Saudi and Ukrainian flags in the background.

The meeting is taking place at a luxury hotel.

Poland to roll out war training

Donald Tusk, Poland’s PM, has said he wants to offer voluntary training from next year, with a target to train 100,000 volunteers in 2027.

Je said: “By the end of March, the government will have prepared the Ministry of National Defence’s proposals on how the model for training 100,000 people in 2027 would function.”

Those taking part in the month of training gets a one-off salary of 6,000 złoty (£1,206).

Third death after Ukrainian attack

A third person has died after a Ukrainian drone attack on the Moscow region, Reuters reports.

The news service cites Evgeniya Khrustaleva, the head of the town of Domodedovo, who issued the update on her Telegram channel.

“Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed… that any future peace settlement must “eradicate” the “root causes” of the war.

“Lavrov defined the ‘root causes’ of the war as the alleged ‘threats to ‘s security from the Ukrainian and Western directions in general’ that are due to NATO’s eastward expansion and the Ukrainian government’s alleged “extermination” of everything that is “connected with and the Russian World [Russkiy Mir]’, including Russian language, culture, Orthodoxy, and media.”

Experts added: “Lavrov similarly defined the alleged ‘root causes’ of the war in late December 2024, and the Kremlin’s rhetoric on this topic has not changed in the over two months, even after the start of US-Russian bilateral talks in February 2024.

“‘s repeated rhetoric about the ‘root causes’ of the war and constant reiteration of its specific unchanged demands contrast sharply with the flexibility has shown.”

Marco Rubio’s pre-meeting words

He added: “And it’s hard in the aftermath of something like that to even talk about concessions, but that’s the only way this is going to end and prevent more suffering.”

“I’m not going to set any conditions on what they have to or need to do. I think we want to listen to see how far they’re willing to go and then compare that to what the Russians want and see how far apart we truly are.”

Second person reported dead

A second person has reportedly died following the overnight drone attacks in .

This is according to Moscow’s regional governor, Andrei Vorobyev.

He said a 50-year-old man died in hospital. Two others are said to remain in hospital with “extensive injuries”.

Photos show damage

Moscow’s governor Andrei Vorobyov has said one person was killed and three injured as a result of the Ukrianian attack.

It damaged seven apartment buildings in Ramensky, one of the capital’s south-eastern suburbs, he added.

The operation appears to be the largest Ukrainian drone attack of the war so far.

Starmer pushes for resumption of aid

The Prime Minister Sir told US president yesterday that he wanted talks with Ukrainian officials to have a “positive outcome” that would see military aid and intelligence-sharing resume, reports suggest.

Military chiefs from the so-called “coalition of the willing” will meet in Paris today.

Chief of the UK’s Defence Staff Admiral Sir Tony Radakin will attend.

Ukraine ‘expanding production of drones’

is continuing to expand its domestic production of drones to support its war effort, experts say.

The Institute for the Study of War wrote: “Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov signed a memorandum of understanding with German defense manufacturer Diehl Defense on March 9 to triple the supply of IRIS-T air defense systems and missiles to and establish longer-term industrial projects that will strengthen ‘s air defence.”

It added: “Director of the Procurement Policy Department of ‘s Ministry of Defense (MoD) Hlib Kanevsky reported on March 10 that the MoD plans to purchase approximately 4.5million first-person view (FPV) drones from domestic producers in 2025 — the projected limit of Ukrainian domestic drone production for 2025.”

AP reports the most drones, 126, were shot down over the Kursk region across the border from .

91 were shot down over the Moscow region.
