President Donald Trump has claimed he intends on making a wild purchase as a gesture of support for .
In a statement that has since gone viral on social media, the US President indicated he would be acquiring a “brand new” item as a show of support for the self-styled DOGE Chief and SpaceX CEO.
A TruthSocial post by the US President hailed Tesla’s vehicular innovations, questioning whether they could contribute to “making America great again”.
Shared by Musk himself on X, the post exposed ‘s criticism of people allegedly boycotting Tesla, even as he lauded the electric car titan as “one of the world’s great automakers”.
The post read: “To Republicans, , and all great Americans, is ‘putting it on the line’ in order to help our nation, and he is doing a FANTASTIC JOB! But the radical left lunatics, as they often do, are trying to illegally and collusively boycott Tesla, one of the world’s great automakers, and Elon’s ‘baby’, in order to attack and do harm to Elon, and everything he stands for.”

Trump continued, highlighting his own experiences: “They tried to do it to me at the 2024 Presidential Ballot Box, but how did that work out? In any event, I’m going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for , a truly great American.”
Pondering the rationale behind punitive actions against Musk, Trump questioned, “Why should he be punished for putting his tremendous skills to work in order to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN???”
Comments on the Musk post noted the difference between choosing not to purchase a product and actively boycotting it.
Social media users are up in arms over the notion of an illegal boycott, with one exasperated user commenting: “How does someone illegally boycott by choosing not to buy something? How are you people this stupid.”

Another wrote: “It is not illegal to choose to not buy a product because you don’t like the company or its owner.”
However, some staunch defenders of Tesla have emerged, with a satisfied customer sharing: “I have owned a Tesla since 2019. Literally the best cars on the road Once you buy a Tesla it’s impossible to ever buy a different car again.”
This debate has been reignited by memories of a past statement from former President Trump about ‘s electric vehicles. In a Truth Social post from July 2022, Trump claimed: “When came to the White House asking me for help on all of his many subsidized projects, whether it’s electric cars that don’t drive long enough.
