A Vax vacuum specifically designed to suck up pesky pet hairs has been considerably reduced on Amazon. The is usually £259.99 but has been knocked to £135.02 for a limited time – a saving of £125.

The vacuum has a 45-minute run time, making it perfect for whizzing around your home for regular clean-ups. The motorised pet tool feature lifts stubborn dirt and pet hair from carpets, rugs, and hard floors.

The head is also designed with ‘Antimicrobial Protection’, a technology that helps protect bristles from bacterial and fungal growth. The has more than 7,000 customer reviews, with one buyer saying the dust container has a larger capacity than their previous Dyson.

They said: “This is a great machine! It has all the best features of a cordless vacuum and has made them better. Before this Vax, I used a Dyson rechargeable, but always found the latter blocked easily and when emptying it was quite fiddly.

“The dust/dirt container on the Vax is larger than the Dyson and is much easier to empty because it detaches completely from the motor. It can be emptied from either end though I find it better to take the filter out as it’s quicker. There are 3 battery indicator lights which lets you know when a charge is needed.

“Suction does not decrease as the battery loses power. Detach the battery and it recharges in an hour though the initial charge takes longer than this.

“The dust-seeking light is great in darker places. It’s as effective on carpets as it is on smooth wooden and tiled floors. It fits comfortably in your hand, manoeuvrability is good and a pleasure to use.”

Dyson is one of the leading brands for vacuums and has a wide range of cordless and corded devices. Right now, shoppers can save £100 on the on the brand’s official website – it’s on sale for £229.99, which was £329.99.

A second wasn’t as pleased, commenting: “After using the vacuum for two years, I have no issue with the weight although due to its design, it won’t stand on its own, which can be inconvenient at times.

“The collector is awkward to empty. What saved this from being a two-star is that it has very good suction on carpets and rugs and light pick-up on other flooring.

“It does not handle anything much larger than dust very well such as cat litter, it really struggles to pick these up. The anti wrap does not work and one of the two batteries has failed, it refuses to charge. I will personally not buy a Vax again” .

A third added: “Battery charged as expected and easy to put together. It was not as noisy as some users’ videos seem to show which was a nice surprise.

“Light and easy to manoeuvre. I like that the light isn’t on all the time (I know where I need to vacuum), but just comes on in turbo mode.

“Stands up when propped up against the wall so might not need a wall bracket. The dirt container comes out and fits back easily. Easy to empty. Pleased with my purchase for the price.”

Another said: “I enjoy using this It needs to be taken apart each time for a clean before putting away. It gets clogged up easily otherwise.

“Very nicely designed and it is NOT fiddly after practice and getting used to it. (Pull out the entire filter to remove stubborn dog hairs and carpet fibres a 30-second job after the hoovering).

“You will need to empty often. I liked it from the start but thought it was too cheap and therefore, would be rubbish. I was so wrong as it is a gem. 10/10. Better value than a Dyson” as the shopper shared their opinion.

Alternatively, Lakeland’s White is £99.99, was £120. It has both handheld and floor modes and has a run time of 2 hours when fully charged.
