Lauren Hammersley, who plays the controversial character Charmaine in the hit drama Virgin River, has hinted that her character might meet an untimely end in the upcoming season.
Charmaine, Jack Sheridan’s (played by Martin Henderson) ex-girlfriend, has been a constant source of annoyance for fans as she continually interferes with his relationship with Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge).
During her twin pregnancy, she attempted to convince Jack he was the father, pressuring him into helping raise them until she confessed to her lie.
Despite their improved relationship in season six, Charmaine continues to stir up trouble with her involvement with local drug dealer Calvin (David Cubitt), and her disappearance after Mel and Jack’s wedding is set to cause significant drama in season seven.
However, Hammersley believes her storyline could be cut short as filming for season seven begins this month.

In an post, the actress shared a snippet of a recent text conversation with Virgin River’s current showrunner Patrick Sean Smith, where she asked about her character’s fate following the shocking cliffhanger, writing: “Am I dead?
“It’s okay if I’m dead I just need to know if I should start putting resumes out at Wendy’s or something.”
Smith’s response, whether it was omitted or he simply didn’t reply, was not included in her post, with only a comforting “I love you so much” visible.
Hammersley has seemingly come to terms with the idea that Charmaine might be written off in a dramatic fashion, as she humorously requested an epic demise. “So… IF Charmaine dies this year, could you please drown her in the river?

“I think that would be EPIC,” she joked.
Displaying her unique sense of humour in her post, the actress remarked in the caption: “I’m a professional. This is how I professionally manage a professional conversation with VR’s incredible showrunner, professionally.
“Because I’m PROFESSIONAL. I’m realizing this is the same tactic I use to figure out if I’m in a relationship or not. Love you Sean.”
Despite being known as one of Virgin River’s most contentious figures, some fans were shocked at the potential plot twist of Charmaine’s death.
One viewer expressed their newfound appreciation for the character: “Charmaine can’t die, I just started to like her!”
Others also voiced their dismay, with reactions such as: “No way!!That cannot happen.” and “Dammit, Charmaine better not be dead!!!”
The burning question remains—will season seven of Virgin River bring a tragic conclusion to Charmaine’s story, or will she survive Calvin’s clutches?
Fans eagerly await the next season for answers.
