We are now a matter of days away from the kicking off the 2025 season, and excitement is building. That much is unsurprising given that the race will bring us ‘s debut, as well as a better idea of where teams stand after an off-season of hard work.

Mercedes prepare Grosjean gift

Romain Grosjean could finally get the test that was promised to him nearly five years ago.

The former Haas star was offered a Silver Arrows test by team principal after escaping a terrifying accident with his life in 2020.

And while Grosjean has been too busy to take him up on it, the Swiss is eyeing the test as a special 40th birthday gift.

“It’s my fault,” he told . “I just haven’t found the time recently to do that and to plan it properly.

“Personally, I try to keep it as long as I can because I think it would be cool to try a car that I haven’t necessarily known. Maybe I’m keeping it for my 40th birthday, which comes next year as a present for myself.”

Lewis Hamilton ‘concern’ emerges

Charlec Leclerc’s superb qualifying record will be a ‘genuine concern’ for , according to former F1 star Karun Chandhok.

Leclerc and Hamilton will battle it out to be ‘s top dog in 2025.

And while Hamilton boasts seven world titles and more than a century of Grand Prix wins, Leclerc is a specialist over one lap.

Asked whether Hamilton could be playing catch-up at the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday, Chandhok told podcast: “Yeah, I think that is a genuine concern.

“If you look at [the] momentum coming off last year, Lewis didn’t have a great run in qualifying and Charles did.

“I think that actually if Lewis is three, four places behind Leclerc on the grid, and he could be because the gaps are so tight if he loses five, six seconds in the first stint coming through, Leclerc is now too good to give up that advantage.”
