Katie Hill, renowned for playing Sarah Sugden on Emmerdale, has hinted at thrilling developments for her character this year.

Since assuming the role in 2017, Katie, who became the fifth actress to portray the daughter of Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) and Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher), has been integral to the ITV soap’s drama.

She discussed her most cherished storyline, saying: “I can’t think of a specific one but you know just stepping into her Dingle side.”

Katie added that viewers will witness Sarah embrace her family’s notorious traits: “You’ll see a lot more of that this year and doing fun things like that is what I enjoy the most. I’ve enjoyed all the stuff you’re going to see this year.”

Sarah has found herself embroiled in intense plots throughout the years, including grappling with Fanconi anemia (FA), a condition that casts doubts over her longevity compared to others in the village.

Katie expanded on this, commenting: “I think throughout my time of playing Sarah she’s had moments where she goes a bit reckless and she sort of thinks ‘I don’t know how my life is going to pan out’ so I’m going to live life however I want.”

Her character’s struggle sometimes leads to unpredictable behavior: “She sometimes forgets that it might come with a few consequences but it plays a part in way she sometimes is reckless sometimes. I’m enjoying some of the stuff showing her more vulnerable side but she’s such a fun character to play.”, reports Leicestershire Live.

An exciting development for Sarah involves newcomer Kammy, enacted by Shebz Miah. Audiences can anticipate a blossoming relationship after their encounter involving a stolen quad bike.
