For the first time in five years, has high hopes for a successful planting season at Diddly Squat Farm. The 64-year-old farmer and TV presenter took to social media to reveal his optimism about producing fruitful crops: “For the first time in five years, hopes are high that we will get our lager and bread seeds into well prepared fields.”

Since purchasing the farm near Chipping Norton in 2008, Clarkson has become an outspoken advocate for British farmers and often documents the brutal realities of farming through the hit series . Now a global success, the show has introduced viewers to fan-favourite characters like Kaleb Cooper, Gerald Cooper, and Charlie Ireland. Season Three, which aired in May 2024, was described as “the funniest, most heart-breaking season yet,” and anticipation is already building for season four, set to drop in just a couple of months.

Fans were thrilled at the news. “May your wishes come true Farmer Clarkson!” one fan gushed. Another penned: “Fingers crossed for you!!!”

Much to fans’ delight, Clarkson has also confirmed that a fifth season has been commissioned.

His farming struggles have not gone unnoticed by the government. Inspired by his battles with local authorities, the UK government recently passed the so-called Clarkson’s Clause.

This new legislation cuts red tape for farmers, allowing them to convert disused agricultural buildings into homes and shops without planning permission. The move is expected to help farmers diversify their businesses without bureaucratic obstacles.

But while Clarkson celebrates legislative victories and an optimistic planting season, trouble has been brewing at Diddly Squat. The TV personality, who cut ties with his Grand Tour co-hosts Richard Hammond and , said that he and his farmer sidekick Kaleb Cooper were visited by five men in a van two weeks ago.

“I reported this to the police who said the plates on the van had been cloned,” he told

More worryingly, on two separate nights in the last week, a drone has been spotted, scouting the house and the farmyard.

The police say it does look like we are being recced by wrong ’uns and that we should ensure our security systems are up to scratch.”

Thankfully, Clarkson believes he has the ultimate security system—his guinea fowl. He claims the birds make such a racket that they would scare off any intruder.

“Anyone who tries to burgle us is going to have their eardrums turned into a blood-speckled gooey mush.”

Meanwhile, Clarkson’s TV sidekick Cooper is now a millionaire after finding success on Clarkson’s Farm.

Cooper was kept on by the new owner and quickly became Clarkson’s right-hand man as he showed him the ropes of running a working farm.
