Emmerdale death ‘sealed’ for icon after 20 years as fans ‘rumble’ whose grave Cain visits

viewers are speculating that a beloved character may soon meet their end, as they believe they’ve deciphered whose grave visits.

Last year, the soap offered glimpses into 2025 through several flashforwards. These included scenes of Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) running frantically through the woods, seemingly escaping from someone. Caleb Miligan (William Ash) was also depicted in a dangerous situation, flatlining in a hospital bed.

Iconic character (Jeff Hordley) had his own flashforward, where he was shown standing by a freshly dug grave, suggesting a recent funeral. Dressed in a suit, Cain is seen weeping at the graveside.

Recently, one of the flashforwards showing a hand under ice was aired following a limousine crash that caused three fatalities: Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough), Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi).

While many believed Cain’s flashforward would coincide with Amy’s funeral, her service took place off-screen last week.

Now, fans are convinced another favourite character will be killed off – and they suspect it could be Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), whose grave Cain visits, reports Leeds Live.

Sarah – who battles a life-threatening illness named Fanconi anaemia – has experienced tumultuous times recently. Alongside the shock of believing she was pregnant, her partner Jacob Gallagher (played by Joe-Warren Plant) ended their relationship.

In an emotionally charged twist, it transpires that Sarah is in fact not pregnant. Now, fans are expressing deep concern for her character’s future, suspecting that she could be poised for a tragic exit from the soap.

Rumours abound among the show’s devotees, with one member on an Facebook fan group commenting: “I’m still saying in Cain’s flash forward, it’s Sarah’s grave he’s crying over.”

This sentiment struck a chord with other followers, as another added: “I said the same.” A third person joined the chorus stating: “Yes definitely feel like it’s Sarah’s grave.”

Another concerned viewer speculated: “Her health condition could give her a false pregnancy result and that her condition gets worse.”
