winner Sam Aston is set to lose a huge chunk of his fee for the ITV reality show to . The star beat out ex-footballer Anton Ferdinand and star to be crowned winner on Sunday night (March 9).
It is believed the 31-year-old dad of three earns around £90,000 a year for his role as Chesney Brown in which would put him on a 40% tax rate.
However his Dancing on Ice earnings will likely push him into the 45% bracket, which affects anyone who earns £125,140 or above.
Contestant pay is said to veer from £20,000 to £100,000 and as a well known name Sam was probably somewhere in the middle of that rate meaning he will have to had over 45% of his bumper pay packet.

She was widely considered the favourite to win and would have been the first female competitor to lift the trophy in 12 years had she been successful.
After Anton was eliminated Michaela and Sam were left to perform routines inspired by Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean’s famous Bolero in a bid to be crowned the winner.
After two epic performances, hosts and Stephen Mulhern revealed that Sam and his partner Molly Lanaghan had become the champions.
However, some Dancing on Ice viewers were frustrated by the result. “Michaela didn’t win this is literally a joke sorry,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter), while another added: “Ah c’mon Michaela’s been robbed!” (sic)

“Well there goes our last chance for a female winner,” a third fan said, with another similarly sharing: “Not happy with the winner Michaela deserved that trophy.”
Meanwhile, other viewers shared their delight at Sam winning the series, with one writing: “Congrats Sam!! Worthy winner!”
“Yessss Sam you won it so proud of you voted for you since the start,” another added, while a third praised Sam’s bolero routine: “I have to say Sam’s bolero was the best by a country mile.”
Speaking after his win, an visibly shocked Sam said that he was “over the moon,” adding: “I’ve literally got no words.”
