A couple who are extending their have been left gobsmacked by a discovery in their back .

Mum-of-two Hannah documented the bizarre find on , where she admitted feeling “concerned” over the item. She penned in a caption: “Anyone have any idea what this is? Should I be worried?”

Hannah’s clip began at the rear of her property where she plucked out a small yellow sign from the soil containing several numbers and the names of major European cities. “It looks like it’s from or World War 2, but I’m not sure” she remarked.

With her husband by her side, Hannah then panned her camera to a deep hole she had dug to plant rhododendrons. Tapping her trowl against a hard surface, she continued: “The further down I go… it’s quite a big, hollow thing, which obviously now I am going to dig up to see what it is.”

“Anyone come across something like this before?” she asked her followers. “Should I stop? Should I be worried?” Undeterred, however, Hannah soon returned to her account with a follow-up video.

The second clip began with Hannah’s husband carefully removing more soil from the hole before he was able to move and lift the mystery item – in two parts – with his spade. Lifting the first half revealed a series of electrical components set against a rusting surface, whilst the second, which was more difficult to remove, contained similar electronics.

“I’m pretty certain it’s a radio,” Hannah said. She then zoomed into a component which read: “Hellesens London”, a firm that made transistor batteries. She added: “We’re not going to be keeping it for obvious reasons. We will keep the signage though as it’s pretty cool.”

It was now apparent that the numbers on the sign were in fact radio frequencies. Scores of users were quick to share thoughts, many of whom suggested it may have been deliberately buried. One person claimed: “An old radio from the war, they were most probably spies so they buried it.”

Part 2!

Another agreed, pondering: “Why would someone bury a crude radio during the war? Sounds like you founds a spy’s stash or part of it. Keep looking.”

A third user shared: “That’s a WWII-era radio, likely used for military communications or navigation. The Plessey London marking suggests it’s British, not German! You could look up WWII crash maps for your area to see if there were any downed planes. Likely, especially over Essex/Surrey/Kent areas. This could be a significant find!”

They continued: “This is a rare historical find! It could link to a crashed plane, a military base, or even secret wartime operations. Definitely worth investigating further. It could be from a wartime aircraft, a field radio, or an old radar system. If this area saw action in WWII, it might be part of lost or buried military equipment.”

Meanwhile a fourth person urged: “You could possibly have more items like that buried in your garden, maybe get a metal detector and have a sweep round.”
