A third fan expressed similar sentiments: “Who the hell is this baker? I can’t remember a damn thing.”
A fourth viewer concurred: “It’s been two years since the first season. How is anyone expected to remember anything? I’ve literally lost the plot. Disconnected, no longer invested. Too long between seasons.”
However, other fans welcomed the show’s return, with one writing: “Nice to have #TenPoundPoms back, I enjoyed the first series, a good start to this one.”
“I have missed this show, so good to have it back!! The cast are incredibly talented,” another viewer enthused, while a third chimed in: “Great Sunday night viewing.”
The latest series sees Michelle Keegan return as nurse Kate Thorne, who headed to Australia in a desperate bid to find her son, Michael.

In tonight’s gripping episode, viewers watched as Kate and Michael became fugitives after she snatched him from his adoptive family. The plot thickened when a heartbroken Michael yearned for his parents, leaving Kate in turmoil.
Struggling with her son’s heartbreaking request, Kate sought solace and advice from her friend Annie (played by Faye Marsay).
“I can see by the look in your face, I know it’s madness. But what would you have done, Annie? He’s my boy. He’s mine, I brought him into this world, he belongs to me,” Kate confessed.
Kate harboured dreams of fleeing to New Zealand and somehow returning to the UK with Michael, longing to be part of his everyday life. Yet, she faced the harsh reality that even if they escaped, Michael still pined for his adoptive mother.
Annie assisted Kate in reaching a compromise with Michael’s adoptive mum, Fran, unaware that Fran had already alerted the authorities. The episode reached a shocking climax as a bewildered Kate was apprehended by the police for the abduction of her child.
