There is nothing better than looking out at your garden and seeing beautiful pops of colour from the blooming flowers. But getting the up keep of certain flowers can be hard to get right.
Luckily, there are some varieties of perennial plants (plants that bloom over spring and summer, die back in autumn and winter, and return the following year) that are very hardy and will give long-lasting blooms if cared for properly. Garden expert Arricca Elin Sansone wrote for about her top perennials and she has a top tip for the beautiful Blanket Flowers. If you want these stunning, bright flowers to keep blooming, “clip off the seedheads”.

Arricca says, when bedding any perennial plant, you should water regularly in the first year. This is what will help them grow faster in their second year, and by the third, they will be providing you with a stunning display of colour through spring and summer.
She said to make sure you get plants that will survive the colder months. She said: “Also, read the plant tag or description so you’ll know what kind of light it needs: Full sun is considered six or more hours of direct sunlight per day, while part sun is about half that.
“Finally, remember that the tiny three-inch pots are going to take far longer to fill in your garden than gallon-sized or larger. So, when possible, opt for the larger size for quicker results.
“And don’t forget to keep your plants watered during the first season so they can set down strong roots.”
