says he is still a “big fan” of , following a slightly awkward exchange between them recently.

Back in January, Craig, 60, hit back at James’ wife Ola Jordan’s comments about his apparent changed judging style on .

Ola, 42, claimed that the judge had “lost his sparkle” and wasn’t as honest and straight talking as he used to be.

“He would say it as it is, saying he wasn’t good, that was rubbish, but it’s almost like he’s got to say a positive now,” she told Mecca Bingo.

“He’s obviously been told they’ve got to be positive and that they don’t want any negativity in the show and that comes from producers, but they need to look at what the public wants really. It’s too nicey nicey.”

Ola went on to say the judges “are all the same every year” and suggested bringing in a different guest judge every week to add “a bit more spice to the panel”.

Hitting back on the platform X, Craig wrote: “Former Strictly pro Ola Jordan says ‘nicey nicey’ Craig Revel Horwood replaced with ‘spicier’ judge.

“Maybe you’d like to suggest your wonderful husband Ola? @The_OlaJordan.”

Responding at the time, James asked Craig if he thinks he’d make “a good honest judge” and went on to send “big love”.

In a fresh update, James discussed what he’d be like as a judge on a show such as Strictly or Dancing On Ice, which he won in 2019.

Backing Craig’s judging style, he told Reach via : “The way the world is at the moment, everyone is so afraid of offending others.”

The dancer went on to say he wouldn’t “deliberately go out to offend anyone”, but believes “honesty is the best policy”.

“You can’t improve unless someone points out where you’re going wrong,” he added.

“There’s nothing wrong with making mistakes – growth comes from being told, guided, and steered in the right direction.

“Whether it’s Strictly [Come Dancing] or Dancing On Ice, I feel there’s not enough honesty in judging. That’s why I’ve always been a big fan of Craig because he says what he thinks.”

Dancing On Ice airs Sunday at 6.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
