Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex’s new Netflix lifestyle series, “With Love, Meghan,“ is already making headlines thanks to a now viral moment with special guest Mindy Kaling.
The former “Office” star drops by to hang out with Meghan in the second episode of the series, which premiered March 4.
During their time together, Mindy repeatedly refers to former “Suits” star as “Meghan Markle,” at one point quipping, “People wouldn’t believe that Meghan Markle ate at Jack in the Box.”
That’s when the duchess corrects her friend, letting her know that she, her husband Prince Harry and their two children — Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3 — all use the surname Sussex.
“It’s so funny, too, that you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know I’m Sussex now,” she explains.
Meghan notes to Mindy that it felt “meaningful” to share the Sussex name — which her husband’s late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, bestowed on the couple when they married in 2018 — with Archie and Lilibet.
“You have kids and you go, ‘No, I share my name with my children’ and that feels so, I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me but it just feels so much. This is our family name, our little family name,” she says.
“Now I know. And I love it,” Mindy replies.
Mindy opened up about her appearance on “With Love, Meghan” on the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet in January.
“I think I was two months postpartum and (Meghan) texted me and was like, ‘Do you want to be in my show?’” Mindy recalled to E! News’ Zuri Hall.
“When you hang out with Meghan, you know the food is going to be good,” Mindy continued. “I was like, ‘I’ll come to Montecito and have you cook for me and go to your garden.’ And that’s what we did.”
While at the Globes, Mindy also told Deadline that the duchess’ cooking “unsurprisingly kind of blew me out of the water” and she’d heard that Harry was “actually a pretty good cook,” too.
