Freezing weather will hit the UK next week (Image: WXCharts)
New weather maps show the exact date a -2C cold snap will hit 99 regions across the UK.
WXCharts has said that will arrive in the UK next week (March 15), bringing with it rain and other wintry weather.
Temperatures will be lowest in central Scotland (the Grampians), Wales (Conwy, Cardiff), and parts of the midlands (Gloucester, Cheltenham, Oxford).
The rest of the UK will experience temperatures between 0C and -1C. Twelve regions, including Highland, Shetland, and Orkney, will not experience freezing temperatures.
Other regions with temperatures above freezing are Cornwall, Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Londonderry, and Tyrone.
Showers have been forecast (Image: Netweather)
The said it will likely be mild at the start of the period (March 9 to 18) and feel warm in any sunny spells. However, conditions will be changeable with a chance of showers across all areas. This is more likely, at least at first, in the west.
How weather patterns evolve during the following week is unclear, but there is an increased chance that high pressure will become more dominant for a time from the north.
This would result in a good deal of dry weather but also lead to a downturn in temperatures with a low chance of a colder spell and wintry hazards. Low confidence by the end of the period but with an increasing chance of milder but more unsettled conditions developing again.
