MSNBC’s Symone Sanders-Townsend was less than impressed with one way Democrats protested during Donald Trump’s speech before a joint session of Congress on Tuesday.
Democrats gave off awkward “bingo” vibes with their protest signs, Sanders-Townsend wrote on social media.
The former Kamala Harris adviser suggested the signs — which read “False”, “Musk Steals” and more — were “not landing.”
“Why are democrats just sitting there?” she asked.
In other posts, Sanders-Townsend lamented that Democrats “are not taking back the house with these visuals.”
And she argued that “Democratic leadership did not do their members any favors by stifling their desires to speak out.”

While the signs may not have landed, per Sanders-Townsend, Democrats did garner headlines via Rep. Al Green’s (D-Texas) removal from the chamber for heckling Trump and Rep. Melanie Stansbury ’s (D-N.M.) holding of a sign that read, “This is NOT normal,” which was snatched out of her hand by Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Texas).
House Democrats also remained seated for much of Trump’s lengthy address before walking out, in protest, toward the end.
