Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) clapped back — literally — against a taunt that President Donald Trump lobbed her way during his speech before a joint session of Congress on Tuesday.
Trump referred to Warren as “Pocahontas” as he ripped Democratic support for continuing to fund Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s ongoing invasion.
“Do you want to keep it going for another five years?” Trump asked.
“Yeah, you would say. Pocahontas says yes,” he added, using his derogatory nickname for Warren that mocks her debated claim of native heritage.
Republicans laughed at the line. Democrats booed.
Warren, though, just smiled and unapologetically applauded.

Warren later ripped the content of Trump’s address as “a fantasy” and said the president is “determined to throw in” with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who launched the war on his neighboring country in 2022.
Commenters on social media hailed Warren’s response as “dignified” and Trump’s comment as “disgusting.”
