Gene Hackman’s cause of death bombshell update as investigators make horror gas find

An investigation has been ongoing to determine the cause of the mysterious deaths of legend Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 63. The couple, along with one of their dogs, were discovered dead at their New Mexico residence.

Now, it has been disclosed that a minor gas leak was detected at the property, but it was deemed insufficient to be fatal. A local gas company participating in the investigation described the leak as “minuscule.” Meanwhile, various theories have emerged regarding the cause of death.

The New Mexico Gas Company revealed that they had “conducted an extensive investigation for gas leaks and carbon monoxide” but found “no significant findings.”

According to an official statement: “One red tag was for a minuscule leak (0.33% gas in air not a lethal amount) at one of the stove burners. The other four red tags were for code enforcement violations – not involving gas leaks or carbon monoxide – involving a water heater and gas log lighters installed in three fireplaces,” reports .

A ‘red tag’ serves as a warning issued by inspectors to indicate that an item is hazardous or fails to meet safety standards, rendering it unusable until the issue is resolved. The bodies of Gene and Betsy were discovered by a local caretaker who, upon noticing the motionless pair through the mansion windows, urgently contacted emergency services. There were no visible injuries on either body, prompting an investigation into their deaths.

It is suspected that they had been deceased for over a week. This case was deemed peculiar by the police as two other pets were found alive and well in the residence. The deceased dog, discovered in the bathroom, was identified as 12 year old Zinna, a reddish Australian Kelpie mix, according to USA Today.

However, initial police reports mistakenly identified the dead dog as Bear, the couple’s German Shepherd.

The couple led a private life, away from the spotlight, in their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Bear is reportedly alive and residing with the couple’s other surviving dog. The reason for the misidentification in the initial police report remains unclear.

In light of these mysterious deaths and subsequent mummification, police are said to be focusing on three crucial clues. Former FBI investigator Bill Daly revealed that authorities would likely examine the phones, pills, and sift through rubbish in an attempt to piece together what transpired.

He commented: “They can do geolocating around the property to see what was pinging around that time, though they won’t be able to tell who without a warrant, but can tell what activity there was before and afterward, even if they’re not suspecting foul play.”

He then pointed out an aspect he believes merits further examination. “There was something about the way that his wife was described in the bathroom that I think is worth looking into a bit more. And she was in the bathroom.”

Adding to his observations, he noted: “I guess there was a space heater, and there were some pills that seemed to be strewn, and I don’t know where, if that space heater was turned on. That might change the way her decomposition looks. Having a heat source close to the remains really does change decomposition rate.”

The probe into their untimely demise is proceeding, as officials strive to unravel the precise chain of events that culminated in their deaths.
