No word yet on when the lanes on the Alex Fraser will reopen, but police suggest finding an alternate route this afternoon
A police emergency has led to the closure of northbound lanes of the Alex Fraser Bridge linking Richmond and New Westminster with Delta and Surrey.

According to the Surrey Police Service, as of 4 p.m. all three northbound lanes were closed. Earlier there was one lane open.
“Surrey Police Service is advising the public that the Alex Fraser Bridge has been closed to all northbound traffic due to an ongoing police incident,” the police statement read.
“It is unknown how long the closure will remain in place and motorists are being advised to find an alternate route.”
