Breaking: Shelter-in-place order issued in Langley after reports of shots fired

People living in the 4400-block of 236 Street in Langley are being asked to stay indoors

People living in the 4400-block of 236 Street in Langley are being asked to stay indoors after a report of shots being fired.

At 4 p.m., Langley RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Zynal Sharoom said several officers were in the area and additional police resources were being called in.

“This is an active event and we are asking everyone in the area to adhere to police directions, shelter in place within the immediate vicinity or avoid the area for their own safety,” Sharoom said.

The area around the 4400- block of 236 Street will remain closed. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and find other routes.
