The Chase’s Bradley Walsh left ‘gutted’ as player fights back tears after making big error

The Chase’s beloved host Bradley Walsh was left feeling ‘gutted’ after witnessing a contestant endure a devastating defeat.

In the episode aired on Tuesday (March 4), the 64-year-old presenter welcomed four new contestants, including Ben from London, Jolene from County Durham, Alfie from Essex, and Maria from Letchworth, who were all eager to win a hefty sum of money.

They went head-to-head with quiz maestro Jenny Ryan, better known as The Vixen, in a gripping intellectual showdown.

The episode took a dramatic turn when contestant Maria boldly opted for the high offer of £64,000. Initially, Bradley was taken aback by her courageous decision, but it soon became clear that Maria had the knowledge to back it up.

She impressively answered most questions correctly and was on the verge of adding a significant amount to the team’s prize fund, with just one question standing between her and victory, reports .

However, the tension peaked when an emotional Maria couldn’t outwit The Vixen and was eliminated from the game.

Jenny commented on the loss, remarking: “You over thought that. You saw 2019 and thought surely by then we already knew it. I see where you were going but also you should have gone with the obvious answer.”

Bradley shared his disappointment, expressing his regret as he told Maria: “I’m gutted. I’m so sorry to lose you because you were seriously a very good player. I am sorry to lose you but you have been caught and the chase is over.”
