She went on to explain: “If you overload your washing machine, this can cause detergent to stay in the drawer which can cause .
“Common places for mould to grow in your washing machine, especially front loaded ones are the door seal and detergent drawer, the filter where’s the button of the washing machine which a lot of you probably don’t know about. And also the drain.”
So how should you clean your washing machine? Lily explained that while a lot of washing machines have self cleansing feature some of them don’t so you’ll have to clean them by hand.
While she didn’t explain exactly how to do this, in the video, Lily is seen cleaning the inside of her washing machine filter with a cleaning spray before moving on to the inside, wher she used a cream cleaning product before scrubbing with a sponge and some water. She then opened up the filter that she’d previously sprayed before scrubbing it clean as well. She also wiped the door clean with a cloth.
She then went on to drain the washing machine clear of water, where she recommend people placing a nappy under the hole to catch and absorb the water coming out of it. She then wiped the inside of the drain with some tissue paper.
Another thing she did that blew people’s minds was removing the whole detergent draw so she could properly wash it in the sink to prevent any mould. To do this, she made another video showing how she pressed down on a secret button, which released the drawer.
Finally, she opened up the bottom part of the washing machine to wipe the inside of it, as well as the inside of where the drawer was removed. She then finished off by wiping off the outside of the machine with a cloth, leaving it sparkling clean.
