The Warm Home Discount is a financial boost for households struggling to cover their energy bills or those with higher energy costs.
However, this seasonal payment of £150 will be ending this month. This benefit offers a one-time bonus every winter to help reduce energy costs during the colder months.
Most people should receive it automatically when the scheme first opens in October each year, as reported by .
The Warm Home Discount is applied directly to your electricity bill rather than being paid to you. If your supplier provides both gas and electricity, it may also be applied to your gas bill.
The £150 is deducted directly from your electricity bills, or issued as a voucher if you have a pre-payment meter. It is not given out as a cash payment.

In most cases, eligible households will automatically receive the bonus but some people, such as those on a low income in Scotland, will need to apply. Eligibility also varies depending on where you live.
Pensioners in England, Wales and Scotland who receive the Guarantee credit element of Pension Credit may be eligible. Those in England and Wales on a low income and with high energy costs could also qualify.
If you live in Scotland, you’ll also need to meet your energy supplier’s criteria for the scheme. The Warm Home Discount isn’t available in Northern Ireland, but you may be eligible for the Affordable Warmth Scheme instead.
Don’t miss… [WARNING]
To qualify for the Guarantee element of Pension Credit, ensure that either your name or your partner’s is on the electricity bill and that your energy supplier is part of the scheme. A comprehensive list of participating energy suppliers can be found on .
If you think you were eligible for the Warm Home Discount but haven’t received it this winter, you have until March 31, 2025 to get in touch with the Warm Home Discount scheme if you reside in England and Wales. You can reach them via phone at 0800 030 9322, from Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, or by post.
However, this contact line cannot assist with new applications. For residents of Scotland who believe they’ve missed out on a bonus they’re entitled to, they should contact their energy supplier directly.
