Dolly Parton flooded with support as beloved husband Carl Dean dies aged 82

The music icon released a statement on her account announcing the sad news and the comments were flooded with support for the legendary Jolene star.

Chart topping singer Gloria Estefan wrote: “Sending love and prayers of strength & resignation to accompany you and everyone who loves Carl, Dolly, our sincerest condolences.”

David Furnish commented: “@dollyparton Sending love and condolences on your loss.” Achy Breaky Heart singer Billy Ray Cyrus, whose daughter Miley is Dolly’s goddaughter, chimed in: “Sending you all of my love @dollyparton!,” followed by a broken heart emoji.

DJ and producer Diplo shared three heart emojis and commented on the couple’s long realtionship. “That’s beautiful for you to have such a long time with your husband. I hope he rests easy.”

Dolly issued a heart-rending announcement on Monday morning, confirming Carl’s death after nearly six decades as husband and wife. He passed away in Nashville, the city they called home throughout their marriage.

The official statement read: “Carl Dean, husband of , passed away on March 3rd in Nashville at the age of 82.

“He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family attending. He was survived by his siblings Sandra and Donnie.”

Dolly expressed her deep love and the special bond they shared, stating, “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years.

“Thank you for your prayers and sympathy. The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.”
