Referencing the controversy surrounding House of Commons speaker , the broadcaster added, “We should introduce her to Lindsay Hoyle; he could probably spend a few quid there.” This was a brutal jab at the MP after a list of his expenses was unveiled in December, revealing that he blew more than £180,000 of taxpayers’ cash on flights in two years.

Mike was joined by royal correspondent Rupert Bell, who added: “Can I just say I’ve learnt one of the great things to do with yoghurt, put it in a bowl with some fruit on top and honey.”

As Mike laughed, he joked: “Really, I’d never thought of that,” to which Rupert echoed: “No, I’ve never thought of that.”

The commentator added: “She’s not winning bake-off I don’t think, because I’ve seen her make a cake, and I don’t think Paul would be particularly impressed with what she’s done there.

“Look, first episode and I think she’s got a long-standing make-up artist with her, so she’s got her friend and of course he’s gushing at all opportunities.

“It’s not even filmed, as we know, in her house and she says at various stages, ‘Well I’m going to take it up to my house’ while she’s in this very expensive kitchen cooking with very expensive cookers, lots of Le Creuset all over the place.”

Rupert blasted: “I just feel that the production staff are preparing everything.”

Although the show promises an “at home” experience with Meghan, it’s filmed in the kitchen of a rented £5 million mansion near the Sussexes’ Montecito villa.

The spacious and ultra-lavish abode belongs to wealthy philanthropists Thomas and Sherrie Cipolla, who snapped up the newly constructed farmhouse and barn compound, which was hailed as both “contemporary and timeless” in 2017.

With Love, Meghan is reportedly part of her desire to share the “joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining and friendship” while clearly shifting the focus firmly away from the secluded mansion where she and are raising their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

The Cipollas’ four-bedroom, five-bathroom residence sits on a picturesque 4,500-square-foot property—part of the twelve-property gated Montecito Avocado Ranch.
